What Are The Different Types Of Birthmarks?
The following are the two main birthmark types-
Vascular Birthmarks –Vascular birthmarks, such as Salmon patches, Haemangiomas, and Port wine stains, are characterized by irregular or unusual patterns in blood vessels beneath the skin, resulting in red, pink, or purple birthmarks.
Pigmented Birthmarks – These result from the clumping together of melanin-producing cells called melanocytes underneath the skin and are generally black or brown. natural moles, Cafeau-lait spots, and Mongolian spots are some of the pigmented birthmarks generally observed.
Birthmark removal treatment:
Birthmarks can be safely and effectively removed using a special type of laser. The treatment works by targeting the abnormal blood vessels or areas of pigmentation, breaking them up into tiny pieces so they can be disposed of naturally through the body’s immune system.
The laser is targeted, so although it’s important, it won’t damage the surrounding skin. Removing a birthmark fully often requires multiple treatment sessions, as the process can be gradual and vary from person to person. The effectiveness of the treatment can depend on factors such as the size, type, and depth of the birthmark. A skilled practitioner will thoroughly assess the birthmark to determine the most suitable type of laser treatment for its removal. Additionally, they will establish the appropriate number of treatment sessions needed to achieve the desired results.
